Urgent PHP Security Update: WordPress Checks & Tekmatix Alternative

Ask your host or website manager to confirm that the PHP installation serving your website has been patched.
You can send this message:
Hello, please confirm that [your website address] is protected against CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619, covered by the PHP security release of 21 October 2026. Has the relevant patched PHP release or vendor security update been installed and activated? If an upgrade is needed, please arrange backups and compatibility checks.
PHP 8.1 and earlier no longer receive routine updates from the PHP project. If your website uses an older version, ask your provider about vendor patches and a supported upgrade path.
How to check your PHP version in WordPress
Log in to your WordPress dashboard and go to:
Tools → Site Health → Info → Server
Look for the PHP version information. This is useful when speaking to your host, although your provider should confirm the actual patch status. Updating PHP is a hosting-level task; updating WordPress itself is a separate job. Before changing PHP versions, arrange a backup and check compatibility with your website.
